HPEF supports preservation education through projects and partnerships.
For over thirty-five years Historic Preservation Education Foundation (HPEF) has been a leading provider of historic preservation knowledge for architectural conservators and architects, tradespeople, building owners, students, and all those who care for and care about historic buildings.
Celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the groundbreaking Preserving the Recent Past conference series and the founding of DOCOMOMO-US, PRP4 will provide a new forum to share the latest strategies for identifying, protecting, and conserving significant structures and sites from the post-World War II era. Remote Learning Opportunities and Resources from HPEF
HPEF’s website is a valuable source for remote learning on preservation topics. In addition to free PDF downloads of HPEF conference proceedings and publications, the site offers video content, an online window exhibit, and other materials. In collaboration with the National Park Service and the American Institute of Architects, we offer quizzes that test knowledge contained in select NPS Preservation Briefs. Twelve quizzes are available now and more will be added in the future. The quizzes can be taken for personal development or for AIA Continuing Education Learning Units without charge.
